AER is the register of the entire engineering team including Engineers, Engineering Technologists, Technicians, and related associates from the 10 ASEAN Countries. There are 10,754members to date.
AER Brunei is led by the Country Registrar, Dato Paduka Ir Othman Yaakub. At the meeting, Ir Julian Fung presented a short briefing on the activities of AER members in 2021. Amongst other items discussed were the mobility of engineers within ASEAN, the standardization of key standards and the opportunities to share experiences and knowledge within the members.
AER was formed to promote recognition of ASEAN Engineering team within and outside ASEAN, to foster high standards of formation and professional practices, and to encourage cultural and professional links among members of the engineering profession within ASEAN.
Professional Engineers in Brunei are encouraged to join the ASEAN Engineering Register, through PUJA Brunei to take advantage of the personal development and business networking opportunities available for AER members. In 2021, AER members have the privilege to attend 40 webinars in 2021, organized by AER. AER is also developing the AER Members Database which can be used to search and look up registered ASEAN Engineers, in order to encourage sharing of skills and expertise within ASEAN and to promote mobility of AER members.
