Unemployment has been a national issue for the past few years. This has been discussed during the findings from the Labour Force Survey 2017 which states that there are currently 19,200 unemployed persons (18,200 are locals) and counting.
According to the survey, job mismatch on labor supply, underutilisation and the drop of average monthly income has become the major factor on the rise of current unemployment rate.
The government encourages the jobseekers to find employment in the private sectors as they are prepared to provide opportunities for the youth.
